Hi, I’m Iwona — the photographer and heart behind Captivate Life Photography.
My journey into photography began when my first daughter was born. Like many life-changing moments, motherhood shifted my perspective in ways I never expected. Around that time, I picked up my very first camera — not knowing it would eventually lead me here.
What started as curiosity quickly turned into a passion. I became drawn to light, connection, and the emotion behind an image. As our family grew and I welcomed my second daughter, that passion deepened into a desire to create meaningful photographs for other families — images that feel honest, timeless, and full of life.
Today, I specialize in maternity, newborn, baby, and family photography, focusing on natural connection and soft, warm tones. My approach is a blend of lifestyle and fine art — gently guided, never overly posed — so your session feels relaxed, comfortable, and true to you.
I work from my home studio in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, a calm, light-filled space designed to keep the focus where it belongs: on your family and the moments you’re in right now.
As both a mother and an artist, I understand how quickly these seasons pass. My goal is to create photographs that don’t just show what life looked like, but what it felt like — images that will live in your home and be returned to for years to come.
Thank you for trusting me to capture a small piece of your story.
— Iwona
Fun Facts: An optimist at heart, I am fun loving, glass half full, let’s make the most of it kinda gal. I’m not a morning person, and live off coffee. I love banter and witty remarks, but also have the biggest heart and will always offer my help to those who are struggling. I will tear up during tender moments as I’m capturing them, so don’t be surprised if you hear a sniffle or two.
